Planning to rent a car and drive shortly after arriving in Beijing? We are now offering a new Beijing Airport Temporary Driving Permit Assistance service for international visitors.
Recently, applicants have been asked to present a paper Chinese translation of their foreign driver’s licence at the airport vehicle service station, rather than relying on an electronic copy. This can be inconvenient when you are still overseas and want to deal with the driving permit soon after landing.

How the Service Works
Before you travel, send us clear images of both sides of your foreign driver’s licence. We prepare the Chinese translation in advance, issue the stamped paper documents and check the basic application materials with you before your trip.
Airport vehicle service stations have specific opening hours, so we need to make sure your arrival time allows enough time for the application.
When you arrive, our staff can meet you at either Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) or Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) with the original paper translation. We then accompany you to the airport vehicle service station and assist with the application until the temporary driving permit is issued.
What Should You Prepare?
You should bring your original foreign driver’s licence and passport, together with the other documents required for the temporary driving permit application.
Passport-style photos are also required. They can be arranged after arrival where available, but we recommend preparing suitable photos before your trip to save time at the airport.
This service is mainly designed for visitors applying for C1 or C2 temporary driving permission to drive ordinary passenger cars. When you send us your licence, please also tell us your Chinese name and whether you plan to drive a manual or automatic car.
Arrange It Before You Fly
If you would like airport assistance, please contact us before travelling to China. Send us your driver’s licence, flight details and arrival airport, and we will first confirm whether your arrival time fits the airport service station’s operating hours and our colleagues’ availability.
Our aim is simple: have the paper translation ready before you land, meet you at the airport, and help you complete the temporary driving permit application with less hassle after arrival.
