How to Authenticate Your Academic Credentials in China!

So, you’ve earned your bachelor’s, master’s, or even a doctorate degree in China – congratulations! But before you head back to your home country, don’t forget the crucial step of getting your degree certificate, graduation certificate, and academic transcripts notarized.

Now, some countries go the extra mile, not only requiring authentication of your academic credentials but also getting it recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consulate or embassy of that specific country in China. But hey, no worries, we got you covered!

Who can help you with notarization? Well, in China, there’s a notary office in almost every city, so just find one nearby and you’re good to go.

Getting your academic documents notarized means the notary officer has confirmed their authenticity and that the photocopies match the originals. The notarized document includes copies of your academic certificates, the notary officer’s statement, and the translation.

What documents do you need to provide for the notarization of your degree certificates, graduation certificates, and academic transcripts?

  • Original degree certificate, graduation certificate, and academic transcripts
  • Original identification document (For foreign nationals, don’t forget your passport)
  • Academic Credentials Verification Report from the CSSD
  • A power of attorney (in case you’re living outside of China and want someone else to handle this for you)

So, how long does it take for the notarization process? About 5 working days – not too shabby!

Oh, and don’t forget about translations. If you plan to use the notarized documents outside of China, they must come with translations in the required language. The notary office will handle the translation and attach it to the notarized document. Just make sure to confirm with the recipient of the documents which language they prefer – always better to be on the safe side!

And there you have it!

If you live outside China or cannot process it by yourself, let True Words be your reliable partner in making the notarization process a breeze.
